What is a Cognitive / Academic Assessment?
A comprehensive and standardised measurement of someone’s intellectual capacity and/or academic ability, identifying their strengths and weaknesses to better understand their cognitive capacity compared to others their age.
What Ages do you Assess?
Currently we offer assessments for children (6yo+) to teenagers (16yo).
What does a Cognitive / Academic Assessment Include?
STEP 1. INITIAL INTERVIEW & QUESTIONNAIRES
Gathering background information & completing surveys.
STEP 2. COGNITIVE TESTING (in Person only, over 1 or 2 sessions)
CHILDREN & TEENAGERS (6-16yo)
WISC-V: Intelligence Testing. Used to measure someone’s intelligence, identifying cognitive strengths & weaknesses across 5 different domains and give an overall IQ to compare them to others their age.
Ages: For 6 to 16 year olds
Time: 1 - 1.5 hrs
AND / OR
WIAT-III: Academic / Educational Testing. Used to measure someone’s academic achievement and aptitude across areas such as listening, speaking, reading, writing and mathematics.
Ages: For 4 to 50 year olds
Time: 1.5 - 2.5 hrs
Both the WISC-V & the WIAT-III completed together form the most comprehensive comparison of intellectual capacity and academic achievement.
STEP 3. REPORT WRITING (approx. 3-6 weeks after final testing session)
Includes assessment results, diagnoses, treatment options, school recommendations, psychoeducation about recommended resources for ongoing education and management.
STEP 4: FEEDBACK SESSION (50mins) (via Telehealth / Zoom)
To discuss the report, give further education around treatment recommendations, explanation of resource recommendations and answer any further questions.
What Assessment Tools are Used?
A variety of different evidence-based measures will be used to ensure an accurate assessment. These will be recommended for you by your clinician based on the different requirements of the person being assessed. Below is a collection of some of the measures used:

How Much Does it Cost?
Prices start at $1,000 for Cognitive, $1,300 for Academic & $1,800 for Combined.
Prices vary based on the assessment tools recommended.
Additional costs if ADHD or Autism diagnosis is required at the same time.
Upon signing up we will reach out to assist with what assessment will best suit your needs, discuss the costs of each assessment option and then send you an invoice for the assessment option you think is best for you.
