Clinical Registrar Program
I started my solo practice to offer more flexible, supportive care to clients in a more relaxed, personalised setting to help them more confidently navigate their own mental health journey – and the clinical registrar program mirrors that philosophy. It provides flexible support in a relaxed learning environment with a focus on developing professional confidence and clinical independence.
The registrar program runs in combination with your clinical work role (job description above), with support to meet all AHPRA/PsyBA requirements. Rather than a rigid “set curriculum” the program is tailored to support you in developing your own learning goals and clinical interests, which will no doubt evolve as your confidence builds and you become more clinically experienced.
Supervision
Regular supervision with Chris Gilbert, a Board Approved Supervisor (up to 40 hours per year, enough to meet all registrar supervision requirements)
Supervision to suit your needs. Common topics may include: case discussion, treatment planning, assessment formulation, risk, ethics, working with children, teens & families, working with complex family systems, neurodiversity, clinical documentation, administrative skills, private practice processes & business principles.
Support with all AHPRA/PsyBA procedural requirements, including development of your CPD Plan, mid-program progress report and final report.
Clinical Exposure
Client contact hours and psychological practice hours are structured to meet PsyBA minimums for endorsement.
Majority of referrals will involve children, teenagers, parents and/or neurodivergent clients
Opportunities for assessment skill development (Autism, ADHD and cognitive/academic)
Training & CPD Support
Assistance in developing your CPD plan, identifying CPD activities & a $1,000 annual CPD budget
Access to administrative & clinical templates and CPD eResources Library
CPD options at CGP: Practice experiences & all necessary equipment for supervisor-assisted training in ADHD assessment (DIVA, Conners, CAARS), Autism assessment (ADOS-2, ADI-R, MIGDAS-2) and Cognitive / Academic assessment (WISC-V, WIAT-III, Vinelands-3) and the following formal courses:
ADOS-2 Training Video Program (~30 CPD Hours)
